Exterior Waterproofing Services

To truly waterproof a foundation, water must be prevented from entering through the walls, footings, or floor—period. This is straightforward during new home construction while the foundation is still exposed. However, once the area is backfilled, it becomes a much more complex and expensive project.

Why? Because most homes have numerous obstacles in the way—like garage slabs, patios, porches, landscaping, and underground utilities.

Our approach is designed to overcome these challenges. We either remove or carefully work around any obstructions to fully excavate the foundation walls down to the footings.

Once exposed, the walls are thoroughly cleaned and sealed with a three-layer waterproofing system, which includes a rubber membrane that is completely impervious to water.

At the base, we install exterior footing drains that are pitched either to daylight or to an exterior sump system. These drains are then backfilled with 2–3 feet of crushed stone and protected with a filter fabric. Finally, we backfill the soil, compact it, and grade it to direct water away from the home.

The result? A fully waterproofed foundation built to stand the test of time.
